Essential Presentation Skills: USA & Germany

On Tuesday, 14 October 2008, the Wirtschaftsjunioren Stuttgart e.V., together with the American-German Business Club Stuttgart e.V. (www.agbc.de), offered the bi-lingual workshop “Essential Presentation Skills:  USA & Germany.” Understand how to present your ideas clearly and professionally as well as ensure your style and delivery are culturally appropriate.

The workshop took place at at Siegmann Privatschulen, and presenters were Gesa Krämer www.culture-coaching-training.de and Jamie Müller www.caterpillarspirit.com, who delivered an interesting and humorous workshop.

Before and after the workshop, the guests networked, learned from each other, and enjoyed food and drink.  We look forward to another presentation from the Dream-Team!

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall - Who is the Fairest of Them All?

The 7 Principles to Integrate in Germany and the USA.

The Germans are reserved and unfriendly, the US-Americans superficial in their relationships and arrogant. Who hasn’t heard these stereotypes before? Do you work with Germans and/or US-Americans? Are you thinking about going to the USA and want to better understand what to expect? During the interactive, humorous sketches and discussions, we received the first aid help needed to manage working and living across German and US-American culture. For example, we found out the similarities between Germans and coconuts and between Americans and peaches. And we learned why Germans bring stacks of books to a business meeting and Americans bring blueberry muffins. The bilingual discussion was followed by a small buffet, where we could practice our new intercultural skills.  Then we went to the WJS After-Work in the Cafe Künstlerbund at the beautiful Schlossplatz.

Juli 2008 statt. Siehe www.daz.org/forms/American_Days_Programm.pdf.

Die Referentinnen waren Gesa Krämer (www.culture-coaching-training.de) und Jamie Müller (www.caterpillarspirit.com).
